Rome is one of the most beautiful cities in Italy and offers many things to see and do. It’s a real open air museum. Those who have visited Rome usually remain fascinated by so much beauty. It’s considered the eternal city, the city where dreams come true; you have only to throw a coin into the Trevi Fountain and who knows! But among its many attractions there is one that is very beautiful, The Villa Borghese.

Villa-Borghese

Villa Borghese is the third largest park in Rome and it includes a lot of different things; the gardens are very large and they have an English-style. There are also buildings with fountains and lakes. This is the perfect way to spend a day of relaxation and at the same time you can appreciate and enjoy the Italian art.

The big park has different buildings and 9 entrances: the most famous is Porta Pinciana, Trinità dei Monti, the one of Pincio in Popolo’s square and the monumental entrance in Piazzale Flaminio. Pincio’s garden, near the Pincio hill, in the south, offers a fabulous view of Rome.

Among the various buildings there are “Pinciana Villa Borghese”, that is now the house of Galleria Borghese, Villa Giulia, which was built between 1551/1555 was the summer residence of the Pope Julius III and now belongs to the National Etruscan Museum. There are other buildings scattered in the gardens of Villa Borghese, Viale delle Belle Arti, was built for the International Art Exhibition held in Rome in 1911, during the celebrations for the first anniversary of the unification of Italy. The National Gallery of Modern Art dates back to this period. There are many other architectural offerings like the Temple of Diana, the Water Clock and the Portico dei Leoni. There are also many ancient fountains such as the Fountain of the Turtles, Fountain of Venus, Fontana dell’Anfora, Fonte Gaia, etc.

But there are not only monuments and things for adults, in the villa there is also the zoo, the Bioparco which has recently been transformed, the Museum of Zoology, and the “Casina delle Rose” that is now the House of Cinema. In this area there is the Cinema of Children, the smallest cinema in the world. Surely your children will have a lot to visit, here!

The Villa Borghese was loved by many writers, poets and artists and this place is the perfect mix of art and nature, a very historical and cultural place. This is a fantastic place, everything is so beautiful and it preserves the splendour of the past. Rent wonderful accommodation in this incredible city, rent apartments in Rome. You’ll enjoy a great holiday, eat good food and see lots of Italian art!
